Dalia Dorta de González
Biennial of the Americas
In the heart of Colorado's vibrant arts scene stands Dalia Dorta de González, a dynamic advocate whose passion for cultural enrichment and social justice has left a special mark. As a board member of the Latino Alliance for the Denver Art Museum and the Latino Cultural Arts Center, she has been a driving force behind some of the city's most beautiful cultural events, shaping the narrative of inclusivity and celebration of diversity.
One notable event, the Redline exhibition in 2017, Latin America: Endless Transformation, stands as a testament to Dalia's commitment to amplifying the voices of Latino artists. Through her unwavering dedication, she ensured that the showcase of Latin American art not only resonated but was celebrated within the community. Her efforts have bridged the gap between cultures and generations, fostering dialogue and understanding through initiatives like the American Latino Eco Festival at the Boulder Dairy Center, through roles such as the Diversity Programs Director at Environment for The Americas and Diversity in the Arts programs. She has empowered countless individuals to pursue their passions within the arts and environmental sectors, leaving a lasting legacy of knowledge-sharing and mentorship.
However, it is not merely her accomplishments but her character that truly defines Dalia. A fierce advocate for language accessibility and justice within the arts, she tirelessly works to ensure that everyone's story is told and valued. From providing Spanish translations to advocating for those with limited language proficiency, Dalia empowers individuals to connect with their heritage and culture through language accessibility.
At her core, Dalia is a collaborator, dedicating her time to volunteer with organizations like Centro de los Trabajadores and supporting events such as the Biennial of the Americas Festival. Her journey from Venezuela to Colorado serves as a testament to her resilience and unwavering commitment to creating a more inclusive world, one where everyone's voice is heard and valued.
Dalia's impact extends far beyond the confines of galleries and museums; it is felt in the lives she touches and the communities she transforms. Therefore, it is with great pride and admiration that we select Dalia Dorta de González for this project, honoring her tireless dedication to cultural enrichment, social justice, and inclusivity.
