Brandon Vargas
Denver Digerati
I am pleased to nominate Brandon Vargas as an unsung hero in my community, deserving of recognition within Jann Haworth’s group portrait for the Denver Theatre District. Brandon and I first met in a chemistry class at the University of Colorado Denver. They walked in without shoes and an open shirt revealing a large tattoo on their chest. I remember that we bonded over a discussion about tarot cards and I immediately liked them. It has been exciting to watch their successes through the roles they have served in the arts community, and through their own arts practice. Brandon has a contagious enthusiasm and makes everyone feel welcome. They have consistently demonstrated a strong dedication to supporting the community through seeking grant opportunities, to get artists paid, as well as a collaborative spirit with both artists and the public. I feel lucky to have Brandon as part of my network and look forward to watching their continued growth.
