40 West Arts
Bill Marino has been a tireless champion of 40 West Arts District since its foundation. Truly he has been critical to the formation and growth of this arts district. His passion, work ethic, and drive to help this district succeed is unmatched. Just some of the accolades won during Bill's tenure as Board Chair of 40 West Arts are as follows:
- Creation of our 501(3)c status
- Location or relocation of over 50 creative businesses to the corridor including Benchmark Theatre, Pirate: Contemporary Art, Red Herring Art Supply, and others
- Opening of 40 West Studios, a low-cost studio space for working artists
- Implementation of the 40 West ArtLine, a four-mile free pedestrian arts route
- Granting of SCFD (science and cultural facilities district) funding
- The purchase and renovation of an 11,000 square foot building in the heart of the district.
Bill Marino has been the recipient of the Michael Newton Award from Americans for the Arts, the Colorado Business Committee for the Arts John Madden Leadership Award in 2015, The West Chamber’s Steve Burkholder Diamond Legacy Award in 2018, and 40 West Arts District was awarded the INSPIRE Impact Award in 2017 by the Urban Land Institute. He currently serves as a housing authority commissioner and sits on the boards of a number of early-stage companies.
