Andrea Viarrial - Murphy

Youth on Record

Andrea Viarrial-Murphy is a leading figure in Denver's vibrant arts and music scene, embodying a dedication to supporting up-and-comers in the industry, especially women and BIPOC professionals. With over twenty years of experience in music, she has embraced diverse roles, from booking and promoting shows to spearheading impactful marketing and PR campaigns. 

Andrea has been instrumental in advancing Youth on Record's mission for over twelve years, demonstrating a commitment to mentoring emerging artists and providing them with crucial opportunities and personal mentorship within the creative industry. Andrea joined Youth on Record in 2010 as a board member and served as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors from 2011 to 2013. She later became the Director of Giving and Growing and is now Youth on Record’s Deputy Director. Throughout her tenure, Andrea has played a pivotal role in various aspects of the organization's expansion, including youth development, mentoring, volunteer management, special events, marketing, fundraising, and local music advocacy. Under her guidance, Youth on Record has experienced remarkable growth, expanding its fiscal power by over 2000% since its inception.

At Youth on Record, Andrea thrives on pushing boundaries and fostering collaboration and innovation. Andrea has been the driving force behind initiatives like "Music Matters March," an annual fundraiser that rallies local businesses and organizations to support Denver's young creatives and the growing creative economy. Dozens of restaurants, bars, venues, and service providers have been partners through this campaign. Thanks to her visionary approach, this campaign has raised well over $65,000 in the past five years. 

In 2018, Andrea introduced the Music Ambassador program to Youth on Record, designed to empower local and national musicians to engage in creative philanthropy. This initiative has been a resounding success, attracting support from acclaimed artists like Shakey Graves, who contributed through presale tickets and guest list outreach. The Music Ambassador program has raised thousands of dollars to date, showcasing Andrea's unwavering commitment to driving positive change within the community. As an eat-sleep-breathe music fan, it’s clear that Andrea is always thinking about ways to support youth artists, professional musicians, and industry leaders through creative, collaborative initiatives.
